Summer/Fall 2009
It’s been a challenging time for everyone in 2009 and car washes are no exception. With this economic climate it is imperative that car wash operators work smarter. Operators who are continually evolving their processes, improving their technologies, and investing in their own knowledge will realize growth despite the economy. This is not to say the road will be easy, but if you are willing to stay the course you could come out on top.
Keeping with that business mindset, the board of the Carwash Association of Pennsylvania has decided to implement a new format for membership. Given the number of industry trade shows and the tightening of marketing budgets, the board decided to add more value to vendor members of the Association. In 2010 a vendor membership will include a one year membership, access to all CAP members, Association newsletter mailings, a table at the annual dinner and meeting table-top show, and five tickets to the show and dinner. Again, the table-top show and dinner for 2010 will take place on May 20, 2010 at Hollywood Casino in Grantville, PA. Look for more information later this fall.
It is our goal to continue to provide all members with benefits and resources they can rely on in their day-to-day operations. All of these member benefits are listed on our website. We encourage you to take advantage of these. Additionally don’t overlook the invaluable resource of networking with other industry professionals. CAP provides different venues to foster this networking. The next one is our annual membership picnic and golf outing on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Cumberland Golf Course in Carlisle, PA. Members are encouraged to participate regardless of their golfing abilities. We host a full picnic in addition to the golf outing and encourage all members to attend. Look for event information in this newsletter and give us a call if you have any questions or wish to register over the phone. Event sponsorship opportunities are still available. Vendor members should consider inviting a team of operators to join them at the outing; it’s a great way to network in a relaxed atmosphere. A great time is had every year.
